Colliers advises new client XO foods in Czech Republic

The Industrial Agency of Colliers International Czech Republic announces it has successfully brokered new premises for XO foods in the first deal between the two companies. XO Foods will take over 4,620 square metres of warehouse and office space at new premises in Prologis Park Brno-Syrovice. A long-term lease agreement has been signed and is due to commence on January 1, 2020.

XO Foods – a supplier of selected “fine dining” ingredients for hotels, restaurants and catering companies operating in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary – needs specialist cooling and freezing facilities for its logistics facilities. Its current distribution centre in Prague’s Suchdol area is in a building that no longer corresponds to their highly specialised needs.

Colliers International began to seek out the optimum solution for XO foods, considering the options of either cooperating with a logistics provider, or the lease of its own suitable premises where XO foods would carry on their own logistics. Together, the two sides determined the best option would be the lease of new A-class warehouse space currently under construction in a strategic location where it would have the flexibility to roll out its own logistics solutions. Brno was chosen as the location, as XO foods regularly supplies clients in Brno, Bratislava, Vienna and Budapest with fresh meat and produce based on their clients’ requirements.

Prologis Park Brno-Syrovice was able to provide the location in terms of size and timing requirements. Prologis enabled the client to install the necessary technologies within their speculative development, such as cooling/freezing areas.

“We are so pleased to be able to facilitate our new client XO foods with such a logistics solution. The location and design of the warehouse will cater to the specific needs of its business and ultimately enable the smooth running of its operations in the future,” says Lucie Řezníčková, Associate at Industrial Agency, Colliers International in the Czech Republic, who represents XO foods in this transaction.
